Thursday 12th February saw Douglas Samuel reach 5,000 days in the job as Spartans Manager since commencing the post in June 2012.
During a remarkable journey so far, Samuel has led the team in 588 games, the first on Wednesday August 8th with a 3-0 win over Coldstream in the EOS Qualifying League.
That victory was the first of 340, several of which has resulted in silverware for The Spartans, including a hat-trick of Lowland League titles, a brace of Qualifying Cup successes, lifting the Lowland League Cup, East of Scotland League Cup, South Challenge Cup and King Cup once each along with a trio of Ronnie Swan Trophy wins.
Of course, arguably the biggest success of all was promotion to the SPFL in 2022/23, ending a 57 game season that saw Samuel achieve what he’d set out to do as part of the jigsaw he’d visualised on his appointment.
Full record: Games 588, Won 340, Drawn 90, Lost 158, Goals For 1211, Goals Against 714, Total Points 689.
