The draw for the group stage of the 2025/26 Premier Sports Cup will take place on Wednesday May 28 at 1.00pm. The draw will be broadcast live by Premier Sports and the SPFL.
Last season’s tournament of course was a memorable one for everyone involved at The Spartans.
A 0-5 victory on the road over League 1 runners-up Cove Rangers and a 0-1 win away at now newly promoted to the Premiership Livingston the pick of the Group Stage games which were to see Douglas Samuel’s side progress to the knock-out stages.
Ross County, who played Livingston in this season’s Premiership Play-Off succumbed to a Blair Henderson looping header which set up an away day to the then flying Aberdeen. Whilst the Dons were to win 4-0 on the day, it saw Spartans reach their first ever senior competition Quarter Finals and earned the plaudits for their showing.
This season’s competition will kick off on the weekend of July 12/13, with the group stage concluding a fortnight later and the last 16 scheduled for the weekend of August 16/17. The final will take place on Sunday December 14.
