The Spartans are delighted to announce the appointment of James Craigen as the club’s new Head Coach.
James will be joined by Paul Thomson as Assistant Head Coach, with the pair taking charge ahead of Tuesday’s crucial KDM Evolution Trophy fixture against Bonnyrigg Rose at the Vanloq Community Stadium.
James will also continue in a playing capacity, looking to add to his 148 Spartans appearances and 10 goals since joining the Club in 2023. Look out for James first interview as Head Coach tomorrow.
Sporting Director Mixu Paatelineon said “I am delighted with the appointment of James as Head Coach of The Spartans. The quality of applicants was high, nonetheless having a strong and ambitious candidate from within was the deciding factor. After playing and captaining the team for a number of years James knows the identity of the team and the game model. We are delighted to give James the opportunity to start his Head Coach career, he has all the qualities required to bring performances on the pitch we can all enjoy”
Many thanks to Paul for holding the interim role in recent weeks, he has been a great leader through this period and with James we are convinced they will form a formidable team.
An exciting new chapter awaits. Let’s get behind The Spartans!
