Saturday sees The Spartans return back to the Vanloq Community Stadium for the first of back to back SPFL 2 fixtures as they look complete the opening month of the season with a brace of victories.
Up first are Elgin City. After the opening three rounds of fixtures, the visitors sit as the early table toppers on goal difference from Forfar Athletic, boosted by last week’s 4-1 win at Borough Briggs against Kelty Hearts and an opening day 0-5 win on their previous trip to the capital against Edinburgh City.
Meanwhile, Douglas Samuel’s side look to bounce back from last weekend’s solitary strike loss at Stranraer which had followed a dramatic opening day comeback against Annan Athletic followed by a warts and all derby draw.

Last season saw Spartans undefeated against Saturday’s visitors. Ayrton Sonkur’s strike was the difference between the two teams in the pre-Christmas clash whilst Mark Stowe’s effort earn Douglas Samuel’s side a point in the final home league game of the domestic campaign.
Meanwhile, both games at Borough Briggs were dramatic affairs, with Spartans coming out on top 2-3 in the first of the four encounters and the other an enthralling share of six goals at the end of January.
