It’s been just 57 days since they last saw the team in action however this weekend offers Spartans fans the first opportunity after the short summer break the opportunity to get back behind the boys when they travel to Linlithgow Rose on Saturday for the Final of last season’s East of Scotland City Cup.
New signings Ben Heal, Dave McKay & Mackenzie Ross will be in Douglas Samuel’s first squad of the season with silverware up for grabs in the inaugural outing of the season.
Last season’s Lowland League champions will undoubtedly offer a tough test in the first run out for Spartans, with two friendlies under their belt already, however the North Edinburgh side head to West Lothian eager to get back in action and important match minutes under their collective belts ahead of the Premier Sports Cup group opener against Arbroath.
