Spartans u20s progressed into the Semi Final of the Combined Challenge Cup after a pulsating eight goal thriller against Blackburn United under the West Lothian lights on Friday Night.
They got off the most incredible of starts when Finlay Hoy netted after just 14 seconds on the clock. Opportunities came and went at both ends before a fine finish saw the hosts draw level with five minutes left until the interval.
Oscar Fitzsimmons regained the lead after the break from the spot after Ola Benson was upended in the box before Lewis Service tapped home to extend the lead with twenty minutes to play.
Blackburn, who have been free-scoring with 92 goals in the East of Scotland West Region league, hit back again with a double whammy within a five-minute spell.
Then, with the threat of penalties to separate the sides on the horizon with five minutes left on the clock, Oscar Fitsimmons bagged his brace with a neat finish before Finlay Hoy sealed the win with his second of the night.
FT: Blackburn United 3-5 Spartans
