The Spartans FC have appointed the highly respected football industry figure Greg McEwan to spearhead their plans to build supporter engagement and fanbase growth.
Greg is very familiar with The Spartans being a father of a Spartans Youth Section player and husband of one of our ‘Still Kicking’ regulars.
Involved in Scottish Sport for more than 25 years, Greg has worked in sports marketing agencies, been part of The Open marketing team, interim CEO of Hibernian FC and then Commercial Director at Easter Road.
Greg started McEwan Marketing Group three years ago and continues to work with football clubs on a range of strategies and actions.
Greg is delighted to be coming on board at Spartans FC:
‘My family are all big supporters of the great work that is done at Spartans. My son has come through the foundation, and is now part of the academy. My daughter plays in the foundation sessions on a Friday and my wife is part of the ‘Still Kicking’ sessions. I spend my time helping with the coaching of the 2018s so we feel that Spartans is a real family affair!’
On Greg’s appointment, The Spartans Chairman Craig Graham said; ‘We’re delighted to have Greg join us as we look to develop The Spartans off the field as well as on the pitch and this role is critical as we look to build our supporter base.
“We were delighted with the response from applicants for the role and we’re grateful to everyone who took time to apply. It shows the passion that exists for The Spartans.’
Greg will start the role in early February and is contactable on: Greg.McEwan@spartansfc.com
