Original Moments. Unforgettable Memories.

The 2003-04 Scottish Cup campaign is regarded by many as one that put The Spartans on the map.

A run that started with a 6-1 thrashing of Highlanders Buckie Thistle saw a pair of Division 2 scalps in the shape of Alloa Athletic (3-3 draw followed by a 5-3 extra time replay win) and an emphatic 1-4 victory over the Red Lichties in Arbroath.

Some 3,126 supporters crammed into City Park for the arrival of Premier League opponents Livingston on Sunday 8th February. A proper David v Goliath Scottish Cup tie that had captured the eye of the media’s attention. Could Spartans dare to dream?

Volunteers swept snow of the grass embankments throughout the morning which allowed a sea of sombrero wearing Spartans fans could attend and the pitch was given the nod by the Ref to set up one of the biggest days in the club’s history at that juncture.

Spartans ran the Lions close in the first half, unlucky not to go in ahead at the break. It took the visitors 52 minutes to break down a Spartans side that deserved every ounce of plaudit and praise come full time.

It was the first time Spartans had reached the 4th Round of the famous competition and what an incredible journey it had been.
