SPFL 2: Peterhead v Spartans Preview

11 April 2025

It’s a high-stakes showdown at Balmoor this weekend wherePeterhead host Spartans with both sides chasing vital points for very different reasons.

Peterhead are sitting top of the SPFL 2 table and will be looking to extend their lead at the summit over East Fife which is currently a four-point margin with just twelve to play for.

The Blue Toon have built up an impressive ten match unbeaten run with only Dougie Samuel being able to find the winning touch over Saturday’s hosts in 2025 so far.

Samuel takes his charges on the road looking to keep their play-off hopes alive and with fellow contenders Edinburgh City and Elgin City going head-to-head in the capital, there will be keen refreshing of social media platforms amongst followers of all three clubs separated by just six points.

The sides have played out some tight encounters this season, and this one promises to be no different. So far this campaign, we’ve had a 0-0 draw and two narrow wins for each side, a 2-1 victory for Peterhead in November whilst Mark Stowe’s goal was enough to separate the sides last time out in January.

Expect drama, intensity, and a playoff-like atmosphere – this is one of the standout fixtures of the League 2 weekend.

NO cash turnstiles, tickets can be purchased prior to the game online https://www.peterheadfc.co.uk/online-tickets/ or from the ticket office located at the front of the stadium.

Preview by Mark Brown with lashings of ChatGPT cause he’s been busy this week.
